Anybody know where I can find a white long sleeve base layer made from merino wool? Can only seem to find them in black or from US site where it costs about £30 to post it over to the UK.

Thanks in advance.

You could try M&S merio base layers, or have a look in one the outdoor/camping shops such as Cotswold - I don't know if either do white ones, but I think that in M&S especially you are more likely to find a white/cream merino wool baselayer than if you only look at cycling specific base layers.... other than that there's always Rapha who do them in white/cream but they're not cheap. http://www.rapha.cc/merino-base-layers

fwiw, I have the Rapha 3 pack for £90, which was excellent value....they are a top merino wool baselayer and come in cream and black, l/s or s/s

I should also add, the advantage of the Rapha is that its cut for the bike position which is a bonus when putting it on under bibs

You could try chocolate fish merino outdoor. Got a trekmates for her indoors from Wiggle, but in grey.

+1 for the Rapha ones - they are superb: very comfortable (more so than the Endura merino I've got). And if you buy a three pack, you can choose long sleeve, short sleeve or sleeveless for a bit of variety.

thanks very much everyone who answered, very helpful!

Went for the rapha ones in the end, although i wish you hadn't shown me their website, far too many nice expensive things on there, tempting :D

You won't regret the RAPHA tops. Like a previous post, i bought 3 about 2 years ago.
Best base layer ever for me. You can push the sleeves up when it wearms up a bit too.
    Quality is very good.
Some of the RAPHA stuff does look pricey, but i bought these (along with socks and waterproof cap!) and they are good value.

yea, i ordered the dutch country s/s jersey from them too, very nice.

Also, should the merino base layer be tight fitting on you or a bit loose?

Nice stuff and not inflated prices (unlike Rapha)

    Says the Assos gimp!

Rapha merino baselayers are superb value for money. I've had one for over two years and it shows no signs of wear and tear despite a lot of use. For £40, it's been worth every penny.

Absolutely. Main difference between Assos and Rapha is that one of those companies churn out cycling kit aimed at riders who haven't got a clue about quality or how long their kit will last . And then there is Assos ....
