I ride a lot of off-road tracks and road racing, i fancy trying to get into jumping and trials type of riding, im on a very tight budget for now so am looking at the cheap and cheerfull option to get me started..... :?

I was looking at the Barracuda range of bikes... Jacabat, Magma,Tonga & Hacker

Can anyone give me any input to these bikes, i know they wont be great but as a starting platform can anyone give me any info on them or other bikes in the same price range.

Cheers

    How cheap you looking?
I think merlin are still knocking out the commencal maxmax's for 240 quid. A complete bargain, i almost got 2 ;)
Seriously though, i cannot recomend them enough, brilliant little bikes for messing on.

I have the long version, despite being only 5'7, i wanted something that felt more like a proper bike [rather than a bmx], you should be fine with the long frame.

They do ride quite well with the saddle up, but a bike like that's never really designed to be ridden for miles and miles.

Steer clear of the Barracuda, they aren't for jumping as you will find out if you take one back when it has broken.
