I ride a lot of off-road tracks and road racing, i fancy trying to get into jumping and trials type of riding, im on a very tight budget for now so am looking at the cheap and cheerfull option to get me started..... :?
I was looking at the Barracuda range of bikes... Jacabat, Magma,Tonga & Hacker
Can anyone give me any input to these bikes, i know they wont be great but as a starting platform can anyone give me any info on them or other bikes in the same price range.
Cheers

How cheap you looking?
I think merlin are still knocking out the commencal maxmax's for 240 quid. A complete bargain, i almost got 2
Seriously though, i cannot recomend them enough, brilliant little bikes for messing on.What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0 -
I had a look at the Commencal max max and it looks good for the money, i see there is a short and long version avalible on the merlin website,,, im 6 foot 1 would i be able to ride the long version ok?0

I have the long version, despite being only 5'7, i wanted something that felt more like a proper bike [rather than a bmx], you should be fine with the long frame.
They do ride quite well with the saddle up, but a bike like that's never really designed to be ridden for miles and miles. What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0 -
Steer clear of the Barracuda, they aren't for jumping as you will find out if you take one back when it has broken.0
