A487 into Aberystwyth?

We're going to visit friends in Llanbrynmair next weekend, and looking for a ride to do on the Saturady morning - A and B roads preferably as have to get back and be sociable. was thinking about riding into Aberysthwyth mainly via the A487 - or is this not advised? Anyone any idea how busy/dangerous this road is?
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos
