I am racing in a Time Trial tonight - non Aero. Therefore, as it is about 30 miles north of where I work, I had to drive in to the office today with my bike on the roof.

Suffice to say - the 6 mile journey took more than twice the time it would take me on the bike and sent me into a furious and vengeful rage.

Not only did I stop at every bloody light, I had the person who's brain was in a different time zone to their right foot....suffice to say, it took us along time to get onto a busy island....The BMW who thinks he can just over take everyone and they'll give way (I won't - you fecking moron - thats why you wound up in the left lane of the RAB trying to go right.......glad you had to wait for 10 cars or so!). The white van that decides the traffic is too busy and now wants to turn around even though there is no space.....Retard central this morning.

And, to cap it all off - thought I would be pro-active a pump my tyre up for my TT race - valve broke on front tube......for fecks sake!!

I am so angry right now - I am gonna take it out in a nerd style and crash a Solaris box running ERDB.....

Mumble grumble mumble mumble, must take out revenge on entire world....

I'm having to drive in as I **need** to be home at 5pm prompt to accomodate estate agents valuing the house, and I had an M3 driver being an arse. Yes I *know* it's a fast car but undertaking while I'm just about to overtake is a stupid idea at the best of times.

Plus the sheer number of cycling commuters this morning, not to mention Mr Uber-roadie (who looked like he was leading a peloton) showing me just how much faster a bike is when you're stuck in traffic did NOT help.

You have my empathy and sympathy in equal measure.

    Morning!

I decided to run to work this morning having done my version of (slow) speedwork with the club runners at the track yeterday evening  It was a lovely morning and I ran slowly - the equivalent of pootling I guess, but I was miffed to see so many cyclists on the road. On the other hand, I'll be cycling home this evening.

A club runner has loaned me her 'fast' hybrid for a week. 0-60 in 2 seconds as compared to my 0-60 in 10 minutes on my Trek  It's a Sirrus Elite and I'm looking forward to riding it to work tomorrow. Woo hoo!!!

    - valve broke on front tube......for fecks sake!!

This surely has to be the single most annoying bike maintenance related snafu (I guess rear would be marginally more anoying).

It's not just the inconvenience. It's not only that you feel such a fookin eedyit for snapping the valve. It's the fact that you were actually going out of the way to look after your bike to prevent problems that caused the problem.

    AAAGGHH!!!

    and

    AAAGGHH!!!!!!

(I'm impressed you're not hopping round with a broken toe having kicked something unyielding).

    Commiserations

I know what you mean though, I get quite aggressive when people do stupid stuff on the roads, but I've consciously started to try to take a step back before launching into a tirade, that and the fact that I'm trying out one of those Respro face mask thingies at the moment which covers my mouth meaning that I can't yell at people...
