Been looking at wheels and these tick all the boxes in terms of looks (especially looks !) and weight, price isn't to bad either at £360 a pair. - Not a very common wheel - and they have mixed feedback on the web - any experience\thoughts com parables ?

i have a set of solitudes, yes they look nice on my bike and are quite light and not very common, this may be why

had mine for 12 months and so far had to change the bearings in the front and after around 1000 miles i was snapping a non drive side spoke every 60 ish miles, i started repairing the wheel myself till i got sick of stripping it after every ride and sent the wheel back to epic cycles where it was rebuilt by a reynolds technician, 60 miles later it snapped another spoke, epic cycles replaced the wheel with a brand new one, all was going well till sunday gone and the wheel having done 715 miles it snapped a non drive side spoke, not happy

anyway epic cycles, who have been fantastic through out this are now refunding my money, so i'm now looking for some decent wheels to replace them

from my experience i will never have a set of reynolds wheels again, though others may be good mine were shite

I'm selling a pair dirt cheap on ebay:

Honestly only used once for a Sportif whilst my handbuilt Record hub wheels where being rebuilt. Fantastic wheels. Reynolds did have problems with earlier Solitude wheels, the spoke design and nipples weren't very good, but the latter ones like mine are fine. Really light and fast!! I'm only selling them because I'm too fat for such light weight wheels.

I've done about 1500 miles on mine, still absolutely straight and haven't had any problems with them. One minor issue is "pulsing" of the ftont wheel under heavy braking - I thought there was a problem with brakes/headset initially but this is a recognised problem. Apart from that very happy

I have done about a thousand miles on mine and whilst I love the wheels there is a problem with the splines on the hub. I think the metal is too soft as the individual sprockets seem to be digging into the splines. I have never had this problem before, but I still rate them!

Here is the problem I have had. I am going to start using cassettes with carriers insted of individual sprokets from now on.
