Easton XC Two Wheels or Mavic Crosstrails?

Which ones would you recommend, or any other XC/Trail wheelsets at about £300 mark.

im especially intrested on your thoughts on the Easton Wheels.

    I can't comment on either of the above, I've had a look at Eastons before but never been convinced. I don't mind the look of Crosstrails, very similar wheels, look and price to DT X1800s.

    Shame Roval Traversees aren't still about for £350, they're drastically lighter, wider, stronger and more high tech than either of those :)

    I just bought a set of Hope Hoops with Stans Flow rims for a similar budget though. Very wide, strong and easy to replace bits on. Roger Musson, a top wheel builder chap, is buying them in, tensioning them to his own quality, adding tubeless strips if you so desire and sending them on for the standard price. http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/

    Well if you are buying on price then you may be swayed, probikekit are knocking the Easton xc2 wheelset with a free helmet for 158 quid!

    The XC2 do not light my fire either. Even at 160 they seem average.
