Hi,

I am looking at doing a time trial on my Spesh Allez road bike and want to try and give my self every chance of getting the best time possible.

I have been thinking of adding tri bars to my Spesh Allez road bike but having never used these I have a couple of questions which I would really appreciate your assistance with:

* Would this cycling position greatly assist me with getting a better time when compared to the racing position on the drops?

* How much is it likely to cost me having a decent set of tri bars fitted incl gear shifters etc?

Thanks,

Tino.

Tri bars enable you achieve a more aero position and therefore potentially gain the biggest single improvement to your TT time - but there are plenty of people with aero bars which make little difference because of a bad position. Suggest you also look at a shorter, adjustable stem to enable you to lower your bars too. I'd stick with clip-ons if using drop bars rather than going to bar end shifters and new brake levers too.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
