Are light weight inner tubes really worth the extra cost?
If so what ones do people recommend?

  • Hey, I got a couple of Supersonic continental tubes to go with my 2.3 Speed King Supersonics. They make for a pretty fast combination! Although, they have both been patched a couple of times thanks to the Speed Kings attraction to thorns

If you're looking to save a bit of weight?, in a very good area to save weight!
Its a cheap way to do it, on a grams saved to £ cost for the upgrade.

I use the Schwalbe XXLight ones with no probs. Although it might be worth looking at some old posts, some one mentioned a cheap tube for about a few quid? (The Schwalbe ones cost about £6/7 when I bought some a while ago).

Yeah, I use the same Bonty XXs, so far they're doing just fine even overstretched in 2.35 tyres. I'd always assumed they'd be more susceptible to punctures but it doesn't seem to be an issue.
