New Frame or New Bike

I was blessed with an incident with Van this morning that has written off my bike  (Giant TCR Aliance 1) and left me with several cuts bruises, scrapes and muscular pains. :( (luckily nothing broken)

Now, as the van driver drove off while I was unconscious I am not expecting to get a lot from their insurance, which leaves me with a dilemma.

As far as I can tell, after a cursory look, the following didn't survive:
Fork, sheared off just beneath stearer:
Frame - completly shagged top tube cracked where the carbon / aluminium join is.
Both Brifters are knackered, and bending at funny angles.

What I do have good is the rest of 105 groupset, RS10 wheels seem ok, Tektro brake calipers, pedals, saddle, seatpost.

So, New Bike, or New Frame and build up?

Pleased to hear you escaped with only minor injuries, no thanks to the tw*t in the van.
Treat yourself after your lucky escape, get a new shiney bike.

Someone else called the police, and my heart felt thanks goes to the police, the ambulance crew and the witnesses who helped out immediately.

Everyone except the van driver was fantastic.

oooh bike is winning it, which one? Time to go full carbon???????

You sure the shifters are knackered and don't just need turning?

certainly looks like it, the levers appear to be hanging about 10 degrees out from vertical. Will have a proper assesment when I can bring myself to asses the carnage properly.

You mentioned on another topic that your Giant fits you really well. Why not get a TCR Composite bike or frameset?

Go for the Rabobank team edition!

Cost, have had a quick look at bike shops, and by the time I have got the frame and the necessary replacement bits I 'm looking at a large amount of money - the annoying thing is haven't quite finished paying for the old one yet (2 months old)

    *sigh*
