Magura, very smooth and pretty stiff with the double arch design. Most will say Rockshox and there aint anything wrong with them... But thats only the same as everyone saying that DMR V8's (and clones) are the best flat pedals!
Had a set of Magura Laurin forks, very impressed with 'em. Currently running some Rockshox Lyriks and (after 6 months, one warranty return and finally a trip to TFT for coil conversion) and am not really feeling the love for 'em...

I might be right in saying the Maguras are a more linear stroke (oo-err), which might influence your preference.

On the other hand I might be talking bollox; in which case someone will gleefully point it out in no time at all and you'll still have a useful nugget of information... :)

SID seems a fair bit lighter - half a pound. More adjustable too.

Can I throw Reba Race's into the mix?

Why Menja? Cost? Durin is the direct competitor for a Sid. Out of those two I'd get the Sids.

If it were my own money I'd hunt down a set of Fox or save some money for the Teams, I've never liked sproingy Rockshox damping quite as much as the Foxs, the new black box stuff is supposed to be good though. :)

Just standard F100s of any sort, Fox F100 RLC being the top dog assuming you need 100mm travel. I bought my F100 RL brand new from someone who'd bought a bike for the frame, with the plan of splitting the parts. I paid him about £200 but it was a bit of a rare find.

Both have their pros/cons though really, the Fox forks cost quite a bit more, will come in heavier than the Sids and some people talk of stanchion wear if you don't look after them properly. Even after ages of tweaking positive and negative chambers I never had my Rebas or Revelations feeling as good as my F80X, F100 RLs or Floats (on the Meta) in my opinion. The new team Rockshox with "Black Box" damping are supposed to be better though.

I'm being finicky really though, either would be fantastic.

if you want a light for then look for the Spinner Aeris, they are basically the sids under the makers name, cheaper etc.
i looked at the sid's, magura durin's, manitou r Se7en and the aeris when i was thinking of new forks! (ended up with old light sid's ) all around the 3lb mark and you can get the manitou'#s for good money now!
