I've just received my shiny new Gilles Berthoud Saddle. It's only gorgeous but it will have to do. Do I have to buy Rapha clothing now? I shouldn't put it on the commuter but I think I'm going to.

It looks like someone spilt paint on it.

    Oooooh retro!

Is it comfortable? I think you need some plus fours and a calabash...

Good grief, the leather is secured by allen key bolts! I can't say I've noticed the rivets on my Brooks Conquest doing me or my clothes any damage. Actually I really like this but 200 quid is a bit over the top. Do you have the matching leather bar tape and mudflap?

Thought about the bar tape for the Cheviot (it's gold) but thought it too much. The leather mudflaps are too big for narrow guards but the Gilles ones are flexible which is more than the Brooks ones were. Comfort, I'll let you know. I'm trying hard not to put it on the Pompino for the ride home, but I feel a saddle change coming on.

No nightmares so far, we are under 50 miles together though. Conversation twixt seat bones and leather going on but no signs of arguement yet.
