Hello

Just wondering who has/will be taking part/watching any of the events.

http://www.originalbicyclefestival.co.u ... vents.html

We went to see "Home" on Saturday, and can thoroughly recommend it if you are a MTB fan.

G&G Shed at Mabie are selling the DVD now also, which is great and supports the local trails.

The Castle Douglas Criterium is on this Saturday and is definately worth watching with loads of spectator places on great parts of the layout.

Anyone going?

A few of us are meeting up to watch and sample some of the breweries fare, its Castle Douglas Food town day also, so will be loads to see and do before the race.

Paul

    Thats me doing bike checks

    On the committee early days
Leaflet drop for Sundays Dumfries crit
And probably more than I can remember

btw it is only Dumfries and Galloways OBF to celebrate the inventor of the Bike KM. The original idea being to tag it on to the World MTB Conf on Sustainability and to showcase D&G as a World Cycling Venue/Area for road, mtb and tourists/ism

    Yep thats right.

And they are doing a great job,

Unfortunately though there isnt a lot of local support for some of these things.

I went to the screening of Home on Saturday, and booked in advance expecting it to be packed.

I think there were about 10 people in the cinema, including us.

I went to Mabie on Sunday to ride, and there were three cars in the car park with bike racks, and i never saw another serious cyclist the whole day that wasnt in our group :-(

Dumfries is a funny place when it comes to stuff like that.

Mabie can be like that full to overflowing or empty. Used to be yrs ago car park would be full at 10am. Then along came F&M and something seemed to change. We do have a lot more choice nowadays tho
