London - Land's End - John O Groats

Hi folks, me and a couple of my friends are planning to ride from London to Lands End and then up to John O Groats, then down to London. We are planning to sleep in tents and try out the local foods of the cities we're riding through. As this is my first "bicycle expedition" I would like some input as to what things I should be considering or bring with me.
