Still pondering which bike to buy. I have discounted the GT ID5 XCR for various reasons. Currently contemplating between the Giant Trance or Anthem.
I'm >6ft and the wrong side of 100kgs. Any recommendations.
Thanks

Which do you like the feel of best?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Can't find a dealer that has them both in stock. I've ridden an ANTHEM X3 but have nothing to compare it to. Hence the request for input from others.

Well, I finally made a decision. After trying numerous machines, I settled on a Cannondale Rush 6.
Suited me the best and I am well pleased with the machine so far.2010 Spesh Stumpy Expert

anthem x deserves the win, it feels so alive. encourages you to tear everywhere you go. and tbh it feels like a race bike thats not a race bike, can handle anything a 5inch travel bike could with ease. you missed out...you really should have got one. words dont describe it but the mile wide grin you get from sitting on it may almost come close.0

Tried the Anthem and it was nice. Felt too "short" for me though. I prefer the Cannondale.
Eveyone is different I suppose2010 Spesh Stumpy Expert

I haven't ridden a Trance, but I have the Anthem X1 and it's a very nice bike. It is light, feels light and climbs well.Paul0

It is refreshing to see a shorter travel, lighter bike win the award rather than some long travel, slack behomoth. Hopefully se many more bikes like it.0 -
i tell you whats embarrasing; i only realised who you were [supersonic] about 2 months ago
after months of trawling through the bikeradar forums + the mags following your advice i thought id say thanks, many problems solved by you
yeah i dont know, i dont think im a long travel guy, they seem too relaxed for me - which sounds ridiculous when your pinning it down a mountain on a V10 or whatever, id be pretty .. tense .. lucky i have brown shorts.0 -
Cheers mate!0
