I have an issue with slipping cogs, tried everything to fix the problem but it still persists. I am in the middle front and when I am in 5 cog on the rear I find if I put any pressure on it and relax for a second it slips down into the next one, tried adjustment but still its there, even had it adjusted professionally, they told me nothing wrong with the chain etc, any ideas and fixes?

Bye the bye it is a nine speed Veloce triple.

How old are the rear gogs? Might well be time to replace them.

Check that the inner cable runs free and does not stick under tension. Also, check that there's no play in the rear mech parallelogram (i.e. when set in gear 5, there's no free play). On a bike, the rear mech change is to most sensitive part for misalignment bar none.

    Hope this helps,

They have been on since new, about 6 years, you maybe correct about getting new though I do clean and oil all components monthly and keep tensions etc.
