Having decided to invest in a new pair of canoes for my clown feet, ive settled on the Sidi Genius 5.5s.

Any idea what the Mega sizes are about? I can get them in 46.5 or 46.5 "Mega". Also, any opinions about the shoes also welcomed.

I believe Mega is the wider fitting.

I wouldnt buy mail order though - comfort is the most important - and how do you know you are getting that ?

Plus Contador looks a nob in that sidi advert, and for that reason - I'm out.

What cougie says, trying them on is best...

Mega's are wider and have more volume than standard fittings.

Unbelievably though on a pair of £150 shoes (mine are 5.5's too) the insole is the same as the standard and therefore leave a gap around the sides. In my case this meant that my big toe pad fell off the edge of the insole and was most annoying.

Apart from an issue detailed in a thread in 'workshop' these shoes have been great.
Cobbles are all very well but I'd rather be riding towards the South of France

Yeah, trying them on would be nice... But the difficulty comes with living far away from any stockists of anything other than Specialized. I had a pair of Sidis about 5 years ago (in blue and fluro yellow! Classy!) and they were a lovely shoe. I guess i'm just assuming these will be the same.

The prices have gone up a lot, my 5.5s were 89 quid last year in a sale...

For real. I'm pinning that one on Broonanomics and the 30% devaluation of the poond.

Yeah I had trouble finding an LBS stocking Sidi shoes (and the one that did only had 1 road model and 2 MTB models) so took a punt and got some mail order (you can always send them back as long as you don't mark them and just suck up the postage cost). Fit me fine, seem a bit roomier than equivalent size Specialized (the model I bought didn't have a mega option but the ones I got fit great).

Sidi's are quite narrow, thats what the mega is about as the other guys have said. I just bought a pair recently and they are quite snug to say the least but fine once broken in a bit.
    Excellent shoes though, highly recommended.

I just got a pair of Genius 5.5 from *iggle.

    I usually take a size 9/44 so ordered a size 44. Fitted like a glove :D

Just wonder how long they will stay white for
