Ive worn the rims out on my FSA RD-80's they on my trusty Van Nick Euros.

I'm 75kg and use the bike for the odd sportive and the commute to work, 45 miles round trip, which is on A, B and rough country roads. Im not sure whether to go for factory or hand built. Budgets around £350, I like the look of the Easton EA70's but what else should I be considering?

TIA

Open Pro with Ultegra or Hope hubs - very comfy, easy maintenance, fairly light and stiff.

Factory wise, the EA70s will be fine and dandy but if you can stretch another few quid then these would be well worth a look -

Bought a set of Racing 3's a couple of months back, been really impressed so far, light and stiff, shod them with Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX Tyres, they roll amazingly smoothly.

    Hi,
I would like to ask you to review the FSA rd-80 since that you used them until worn out. Because I'm thinking of getting the rd-80 or rd-88.
Please give some comments on the rd-88 too if you know anything about it.

  • I bought the wheels on a second hand bike, only did about 2000 miles on them, seemed fine to me, dont have much experience of other wheels, so difficult for me to draw any conclusions. They stayed true, looked good, bearings easy to replace.

Incidently I upgraded to Hope Pro 3's with Open pro rims, well chuffed with them,.

Apparantly Open Pros are suffering from Quality Issues these days, and Ambrosio rims are a better bet.
