    Wow, it's bad enough having doctors jack you up, but the "do it yourself" approach
    sounds worse than "home dentistry".

    No, DIY blood transfusions etc are perfectly safe, because otherwise the pro peloton would protest and refuse to race if there was a threat to their safety and a patron would speak out about it on behalf of all riders.
