hi, just two quick questions really - I have been looking for an online retailer that can offer replacement xt m770 reservoir caps, and what size is the screw that holds the caps down. I have tried google with no avail

Best bet is to locate your nearest Shimano service centre. They will be able to order the bits for you. It's bl**dy annoying but for some reason many manufacturers only sell spares via authorised service centres. menaing you can't easily order them  .
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Are you sure they are m770's and not m775's? (presuming they are xt discs), cant say ive heard of m770 discs (prob why you cant find anything).

Resevoir 'lids' and screw (M3x8mm) is on page 2.

Not sure how accurate it is, but any decent bike shop should be able to get hold of the spares for you as the shimano stuff all comes from the same place..ie Madison. Even halfords should be able to order it for you.
