Pike 426 u turn - Travel loss

Have checked previous posts but unable to find the answer - any help appreciated.

My u turn dial siezed, opened up and regreased (after only 12 weeks from new)

However the travel is 95mm to 140mm, but now I seem to have lost the last 10/15mm.i.e. 95 to 125/130mm is available but the turn dial stops and provides heavy resistance. So rather than getting out the birmingham spanner :x (read hammer) what is the next step?

Thanks in advance

    Sorry its air.

circa 130 psi in both chambers as I weigh 80kgs (ish)

have you rechecked the air? reduce neg air and see if it comes back.

    Nick, I hadn't.

Dropped the negative pressure and the 140mm appeared - wonderful.....exept that the u turn would only go back to 110mm rather than 95.

Have dropped the positive pressure and gained 95mm but reduced to 130mm again....have spent 10 minutes with a see saw effect.

now only 30mm of travel, either 110 to 140mm or 95mm to 125mm.

Now on 110 to 140mm ,my preference anyway, but as this is a 12 week old bike, I would like to gain all the travel...any advice or is this a 20 mile trip back to my supplying dealer? :(

    Thanks again in advance :)

I have the coil Uturn and that is definitely 95-140 but I *think* the air one is 110-140, which would mean it's working properly now you have advusted the neg pressure.

but i could be wrong about that

if it's 12 weeks old, do not force anything, just take it back for warranty goodness.

Thanks, but the air version is defo 95mm to 140mm on a Marin Wolf Ridge 08 model. I can achieve both 95 mm and 140mm when taking the air out of either the +/- chambers but only 30mm of travel with the u turn adjustment...

    any advice?

Back to the shop they go.

Personally, I would not be fiddling around attempting to fix something that was only 12 weeks old. I'd leave that hassle for when the forks are out of warranty.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

it could be that you have somehow put the cap back on wrong (dont know how as there are no stops or anything).

Back to basics. let all the air out and work it through the uturn a few times.

add pos. air (with the fork at max travel) then add neg. air and see where you are.

my technical ability isn't great, but I did wonder??

    Followed the advice and can still only get 110mm to 140mm, now having checked the adverts as below;

    http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/marin-wo ... 18514.html

it does specify a coil u turn, but as I have +/- air chambers, presume mine is an air. The forks are marked 110mm, 125mm and 140mm and all these I can see. Previously when using 95 mm the fork showed no markings (although I have slept since)

So, it looks like a quick trip to the shop, but thanks for the advice..much appreciated

Nope you are dead right, after some searching found that on the RS website, so it was the retailer who had listed the spec as coil.

Feel like bit of a numpty now  Anyway the word air is clearly marked on the fork. So I presume Marin changed the specification and the dealer wasn't aware?

If I didnt have it I cant miss it, bike is an absolute gem!!

    Thanks for everyone's help.
