Pedro Horillo out of Coma
Looks like big improvements in his condition, out of coma, and moving limbs. Dont know how he survived a 60m fall..

Hopefully he will make a full recovery.
3 years ago Christophe Brandt had a similarly horrific crash:

He was put into a medically induced coma, broke his arm, broke four ribs, punctured his lung, and had to have one of his kidneys removed. Where is he now? Racing the Giro d'Italia. Cyclists are tough.0 -
brilliant news, lucky guy to survive such an awful crash.0

Touche, these guys have got a hard time lately for complaining about the stage safety but they make far valid points compared to the likes of Football players. Wish horillo a speedy recovery0

This photo shows the drop involved quite clearly...

Hard to believe anyone could have survived a trip down there!0

Good grief. He's one tough one. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I suspect that most people will be interested in how Pedro is doing after his horrific crash in the Giro last year....
Anyway, this year Pedro road most of the Tour's stages... He was at the Tour primarily as a journalist for El Pais... but was also getting in serious rides. The two pics below are taken near the top of the Col de la Ramaz on stage 8. Pedro was riding about 10 mins ahead of the leaders. Here an official car is pulling up next to him and he shows his credentials so he can continue on how way.. Chapeau I say.
