Did a regular on this forum get a new bike recently?

'cos there seems to be an awful lot of posts about it
(very gentle leg pull DDD 8) - if I had a bike as stunning as yours, there would probably be flags outside and guided tours on offer)
I'm going to have to wait until the Cycle to work scheme kicks off before I get a full on road bike - which will NEVER be used for going to work

No worries, I do seem to have gone on and on about wanting, needing, going to buy, buying, waiting to take delvery, finally getting and then nearly riding my new bike...
Sorry if I've harped on, its because...
My entire childhood was spent riding a bike. I would ride to school, I would ride after school and I would ride throughout the holidays. I used to watch the Tour de France (on Channel 4) at my Grans not truly understanding the rules but thinking "those bikes are cool". When out playing I'd watch roadies zooming past on their bikes and I'd think to myself "wow they look cool". Now I'm that roadie. I'm living the dream!!!
Also don't worry about not having a road bike yet. You'll get one by any means necessary. I think nearly everyone on the site has bought their best bike with the added help of 'credit' to soften the immediate blow....Food Chain number = 4
A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game0 -
Glad you saw the gentle humour in the post
I don't think that there is one person on this forum that doesn't empathise with your feelings / joy. I know I would be the same getting a high end bike.
After my very enjoyable leisure cruise on my commuter CX bike I know I'm going to get a good leisure road bike as soon as. I also don't doubt I'll be on here asking for (and taking) adviceChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)
