Dropout Sizes and Wheels

I'm building up a bike from a steel frame which has 130mm dropouts. My question is do all road wheels fit 130mm? I was hoping to use a 9 speed cassette but measuring up against my Giant SCR2 the dropouts are way bigger. Is the difference in dropout width made equal by different sized hubs? Bit confused as looking at various wheels from Web traders the size of th dropout is hardly ever stated.

All modern road wheels are 130mm except some touring ones which use MTB 135mm hubs. Dropout size is irelevent, just back the QR off a bit more.
