Hi,

I am rly new to this so I don't know what I am looking for but, when I spin the wheels, front wheel is the most distinct, it sounds like its catching, almost like a metal sound, strangly, almost exactly like a swrod is being drawn lol as a result I have not taken it out for a ride yet..

Is something wrong with the disc breaks or something?

Thanks.

Perfectly normal, they just need to bed in

its normal, I had two sets of rims and both did the same initially (only on the front)

if its constantly rubbing then loosen the caliper mounts, spin wheel, press and hold the brake full on, tighten the mounts loosely let go of brake lever, spin wheel and if the scuffing noise has gone job done if not rinse and repeat.

thats how I did it anyway

sounds like the brakes need to bed in. a normal process

if the noise hasn't gone away after a couple of decent rides with plenty of braking take it back to the shop for a tune up which should be free.

    Hi

When I picked up my bike from halfords the front wheel was making a similar scraping sound. I too thought the brakes must be catching, so had a good look around the caliper to see what was what.

It was then that I noticed the front quick-release front wheel had not been fitted properly, was a bit on the p*ss when it had been tightened up.

Loosened quick release. Made sure wheel was fitted properly. Tightened up quick release. Yay! No scraping sound, brakes working perfectly etc

Naughty halfords, making me worry about my new bike like that. lol
