helmet law in belgium

im going riding in belgium at the end of the month is it law to wear a cycle helmet while riding there?

It certainly wasn't the last time we were there. I'd be very surprised if it had changed because so many people use bikes for shopping etc in Flanders and they wouldn't appreciate compulsion.

Only the racing type cyclists wear them, by and large.

The answer is no - I have cycled in Belgium on a couple of occasions in the past couple of years - The number of non helmet wearers far outweighs the number wearing helmets

I downloaded this a while back when I was checking what was what in Spain

As far as I am aware (and I keep an eye on these things) it is still up to date - if any one knows any different let me know because I could do to update my copy
