servicing my bike

so i will soon have a new bike and would like to service my bike myelf so would like to know how do i service my own bike and what i need get to help with this, tools and stuff.

have a look at the park tools website & Sheldon Brown's website &/or get a copy of Zinn & the art of mountain bike maintenance

most servicing can be done with normal tools, although some jobs require special tools, some are cheap, some are not
