I have a Selle Italia SLR and the LBS said for me a Fizik would be better.

Without going into detail my arse is flat!!!!!!!!!! as such there would be more support on the Fizik

Anyone else got a Fizik?

How on earth does he think that saddle is suitable for you? He doesn't know. Only you will know once you have been out on it a few times. What he probably means is the Fizik has more padding and more flex than the SLR which is a fair point. I had an SLR and sold it. Not right for me, but right for other people. I do ride (mostly) on an regular ti railed Aliante now and have been for the past 2 or 3 years.

It's the ultimate cycling dilemma of finding the right saddle for YOUR bum which is different to everyone else's of course ... you may get lucky and find your ideal saddle soon. Or you may not ...

I'm using a Fizik Aliante Delta and it's awesome, much better than the last saddle I used which was a Spesh Toupe. That said, what's good for me might not be good for you in exactly the same way that my 55cm Bianchi might not fit someone else just because it fits me.

It's all very much about what suits you.

I'v always riden selle Italia, but my last saddle was a Fizik aliante, for comfort it knocked the selle Italia into a cocked hat.

I ride a Fizik Arione CX and I really like it but I tested it from a mate first as It is a different shape and everyone prefers different saddles. The best bet it to go to your LBS that sell Fizik saddles and it they are a dealer they might have the Orange test Fizik saddles which you can borrow for a short ride, your probally have to give a returnable deposit, but it would definatly be worth it to try the range as they will each feel different. Maybe be best to ring your LBS first to see if you can test ride saddles but it is the best idea.
