Hub bearings - Chrome or stainless steel finish?

About to order some bearings so I can service my old hubs. I know the size and how many I need but got stuck on the finish.
Was gong to get them from:-
http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/index. ... 2a&&page=2
But they only have hardened stainless steel or hardened chrome. If I was to guess I would say the stainless steel ones but am not 100% sure.
Any help would be good.
Cheers

Not sorry to drag up an older post because it comes up high in Google listings when bearing choice is searched for.
Why have the softer stainless steel bearings have been recommended? No rust issue if they are kept lubed (and aren't they always?), so what am I missing?"Coming through..."0 -
when a chromed bearing fails it does more damage. balls and cones are easy to service/replace but the cups are not."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
