Does anyone know someone who can put some braze ons (for rack mounting) onto an aluminium frame in the south cheshire area?

Unless its a very special frame I doubt it'll be worth it. It's fairly easy and inexpensive for steel frames, but I've never heard of anyone having this done to an aluminium frame.

I'd be interested to hear if you have any success though....

    Why not use p-clips?

Are P- clips strong enough? I have lug holes for the bottom of the rack at the hub, just nothing for the top at the seat stay tubes. If P-clips are strong enough, then cool beans :D

Any pictures of this arrangement out there? thanks for the input. I'm trying to turn my second bike into a tourer/audaxer.

P-clips would be at least as strong as the braze-on.

Alternatively if you have a 31.8mm diameter seat tube you could use one of these, as ride_whenever says:

EDIT: if I'd followed the link in Flash's post I'd have seen that these are discussed there.
