bike hire Manchester area

G'day,
comming out to visit terminally ill relative for last week of may and first week of june

putting my bike in a huge box and lugging it from the under side of the world is proving too hard

Will be based in Bury just north of Manchester most of the time and for a short time in Holmfirth (over the other side of the lumpy bits)

Is there anywhere that I could rent a bike( drop bar road 54 to 56 cm) for a week, will just need to get away for a while occasionally

NB 2002, presumably a left-over from the Commonwealth Games
- don't bother with the ones down in Derbyshire, they hire-out MTB's for use on some disused railway lines they have down there : I doubt they have road bikes and they're miles from Bury anyway
- but there's a list of bike shops - might be worth a try for some of those, see if they have any demo bikes they'd be willing to rent-out
