Tricross Sport 2009 Rear Cassette

Does anyone know the size of each cog for this?

I'm curious as I tend to go most everywhere in one gear: the middle cog of the rear cassette and the big chain wheel

Now the chainwheel is a 50 tooth jobbie but I'd be curious to know what I am cruising in, in comparison to the SS crowd

I know its a 11-32t cassette but I can't find the breakdown of each component anywhere

    [Facetious]

    You have two easy options:

    1. Number of teeth is stamped on each cassette sprocket.
    2. Count 'em !

I know, cos I just went through the same exercise yesterday working out what GI I use most.

Yeah, a good question - is there a standard set of sprockets that make up a 10sp or 11sp cassette - for example if it's 11/25 is it always going to be 11/13/15 etc ?

    Yay!

    Cheers for that :D

So that means I am cruising on 700x32c CX tyres on a 50/18 gearing.... goes looking for calculator

While I'm looking - that gearing has me holding 16-18mph with blips up to 20ish where I usualy go up to 50/16. Have I got my cadence about right? (personally it feels okay but what do I know?)

    Hmmm....

now I read it, it's telling me I can use the middle ring for anything beyond really 'fast' cycling.

I can use the lowest gears on the rear cassette and the middle ring and get the same flat line speed and cadence, but I gain the advantage of greater flexibility of gear selection. (remembering that you should not use the biggest two cogs 50-32)

They sell these things called torches, these days. Quite the latest thing they are!!

Still, I didn't know that they stamped the number of teeth on the sprocket. I need to get down and dity with my chainset, clearly

In my defense I have been humping 3'x2' & 2'x2' slabs to the waste disposal site; not to mention a ton of rubble, old desks, shelving units and knackered double-glazing units all in my golf, which is now looking very tired (as am I) so using my brains is a bit difficult at the moment.

Mind you - the enquiry did elicit some extremely useful information I did not know about my bike, and gearing in general.

It also sounds like my gearing is about the same as the SS lot (ish) so that was useful to learn as well.
