Hey guys,
Went to my lbs and tried the transeo and was fairly impressed apart from the fork did not seem to lock out well and had alot of give (faulty one?).
I may go for the but the Trek has caught my eye and the 7.6 got a good review but can't find any up to date info on the 7.5 (09). Will have to go some way to get a trek as no-wherel localy seems to do them. The lbs said they can order but I will have to purchase (no test ride).
The lbs also told me they have to charge the top RRP under the bike to work scheme?? Is this true? Thanks for looking.

Hi
I bought a Trek 7.5 FX back in January. Absolutely love it. A fast lightweight commuter/fitness bike.
I did have a sprocket snap on it though, cycling up a hill. Local bike shop replaced the cluster free of charge.
Other than that has been great. 32mm slick tyres that can handle all but the worst pot holes when you fail to avoid them.
Having lost 1.5 stone with regular runs since buying it, plan to buy a road/race bike later in the year when my fitness increases. Plan to continue using the Trek for the daily commute and some touring later in the year.
Didn't buy it through the bike to work scheme though, so don't know about the RRP.0 -
Some shops charge full RRP on items, even if they're are on sale they will charge full. Thinks it's probably because your already saving money through scheme and they want to make as much as possible. If this takes you over budget or scheme then say you'll walk away and they might lower it a bit. It's worth trying, even if you walk back in again next week, they aren't gonnna turn your money down.
The 08 7.5 is a nice bike. My mate and girlfriend have one and really like them.0 -
Cheers for the feedback. Yer am really impressed with the 7.6 just need to decide on the frame size. 20 seemed a bit big not sure about 17.5. Am going back tomorrow to have a try out.

I'm also getting a 7.5 on the bike to work scheme - have a voucher on order for £600. My bro works in an LBS and apparently the dealers have to pay 10% to the scheme so they're effectively already giving a 10% discount. That's why they won't discount any more...
My commute normally costs about 4 quid a day, so if I ride to work 10 times a month, it'll have paid for itself in a year! It's a no brainer...
