I've never done a TT but reading through here made me want to!!
Anyone know how I go about finding TTs in my area? I live between Bath and Frome.
Cheers

What you are looking at there are just the open events run by clubs in the area. It's very likely that those clubs also frequently hold week-day evening 'club' time trials which are a bit less formal and don't require entry in advance. If you google the clubs and find their websites you will probably find their calendar of club events, or even, if you found the 'West District' website, that may list all of them.............in fact, here you are: http://www.westdc.co.uk/
Clubs will usually welcome newcomers who would like to have a go at a time trial. Try emailing the club to just check when it's best to turn up as some clubs have very large numbers of riders at the moment and you might have to get there early to sign on and get a starting number.
Jeff Jones, editor of this website, is based in your area too, he might be along soon with some local knowledge before long...........

Weston Wheelers run 10 mile TT's every Wednesday, http://www.westonwheelers.co.uk
I dunno if that's too far for you to come?0 -
There are two club events in Frome:
Tuesdays: Somer Valley (http://www.somervalley.org.uk/home.htm)
Thursdays: Frome and District Wheelers (http://www.fromeanddistrictwheelers.com/)
There is also an open 10 in Frome run by the Frome and District Wheelers on the 30th of May (http://cyclingtimetrials.janet0102.co.uk/Default.aspx?&ge514__geka=MoeMaZhZdmGPSYuQ8onYwr5VtT1MpzEe2fhLDMJ2raIcqkycJrweT-tOSegOH8lwEB63Z4jLgVoj_3jukNhph4m-1lHSsKO0vHKLWGEPkhs5RhzIORMLzeed9qlxP9ELBKIXCFJnhJA9mYtdI-PkZQ&ge514__gevi=eY9aJIVui1kxJIgWIubl_g&gv850__gvac=2&gv850__gvff0=9403&gv850__gvfl0=0&tabid=361).
I ride with VC Walcot and we also have our own series on the last Wed of the month, north of Bath. It's not a fast course by any stretch of the imagination but very friendly!0 -
If you're Bath based, then the VC Walcot TT will be the closest, although as Lowe said it's only once a month.
I do the Chippenham club events at Sutton Benger. These are every Wednesday, sign on in Queens Field, Sutton Benger lane at around 6:15pm. These are usually 10 miles, although sometimes we do 15, 25 and there's even a 50.
See: http://www.communigate.co.uk/wilts/chippenhamwheelers/ for more.
Further west, there's Bristol South CC (http://www.bristolsouthcc.co.uk/ ) who run TTs around Chew Valley lake and have another course at Aust. These are on Wednesdays.
There's also the Severn Road Club (http://sites.google.com/a/severnroadclu ... dclub/Home ), who run a Wednesday evening 10 on a new course at Alveston. It's a bit further to get out there, but it's good training if you ride out and back.
Ditto the Dursley Thursday evening 10 on the A38 (Newport to Slimbridge and back). See http://www.dursleyroadclub.org.uk/ for more.
They're all cheap to enter and good fun - you'll get a wide range of abilities and bikes at each one.Jeff Jones
