Some advice re: bike suitability please (full noob)

First time post so please forgive any obvious oversights. I've just moved to an area with some brilliant looking wooded trails and decided to make good use of them via two wheels so have bought a Norco Bigfoot (2007) as it was massively reduced and came recommended by a mate. I'm now waiting for it's arrival and have begun to get a bit twitchy as I'm 6'2 and nearly 15 stone. I opted for the large (19") frame. Am I fretting over nothing or is my enjoyment going to be affected by the size of this bike? I'm completely new to this and would appreciate some opinions; even if only telling me to change it for something more appropriate. cheers[/b]

Ideally you would have tried it out first. Sizes do vary from brand to brand, not just the height, but reach. Have a read of the What Size thread in the Buying forum for more info.
The bike is a heavy duty beastie if that is what you need.0 -
Cheers for the speedy reply, the "what size" thread really helped inform. Bike'll mainly be used for absorbing poor landings so good to know it's up to the job.
More time on research in future,0 -
Yep, certainly tough enough!
You'll probably find it is fine, and it is true to say you do adapt. But experiment with the set up ie saddle height and position, and remember you can always change the bars and stem.0
