I've decided that this weekend I will be mainly cycling around in the North Downs in Kent.

I will be starting from the Gravesend area and heading east to finally arrive at the coast at some point.

I don't know this bit of the world at all - having moved to North Kent about 3 months ago.
Does anyone know any good bits I should include on my route? I will be sticking strictly to the roads btw.

  • Get yourself an OS map and ride the north downs way, its mostly off road though...

I rode part of the north downs way on wednesday, I started at Trottiscliff and finished near boxley. There are some good desents along the way too.

If your starting at gravesend then maybe out to shorne country park, then over to Cobham Hall woods where you can then pick up the north downs way.

    Hope this helps

There are some great decents around Hollingbourne and lenham, look at OS map of the area and look for the byeways around there... Drakes Lane, if the 4x4's have not trashed it...
    09 - Santa Cruz Heckler
    03 - Trek 8500
    95 - P7 (Dead, but I loved it)
Year dot - Alpine Stars CR300 - Still going strong...
