Some quick advise pls.....i really want to add some RaceFace components to my MTB including Seatpost, Stem & Riser bars...

I understand i need to ensure the correct sizes, diameters, width etc etc of the said above and of course beaware of changes in geometry...but is there anything else i really need to consider B4 purchasing?

EG: Would my current saddle fit onto the post universally or do i need to buy a new one to suit/fit the post?
Do i need to change my headset?
anything else?

reading this back I do sound a bit thick dont I sorry...!

Fellow yid, you shouldn't need to change anything, just make sure you get the correct sizes to suit the bits you already have and you should be ok.

Saddles are pretty-much universal (unless you have the I-beam type), check your headset size and make sure your happy with the length of stem you're looking for (some can feel like a tiller if you get them too long). You also need to have an idea of what degree of rise you're looking for in your bars.

In short, small differences in length, degree of rise and even width can make a big difference in how your ride feels and handles so be sure of what you want to achieve before you part with the cash.

You don't sound thick, it's a minefield out there!

    thanks pal.....
also how exactly are you supposed to measure a stems reach....someone told me its not end to end ....you are supposed to measure the ctr of the bracket to the ctr of the bracket....? See they generally come in 90mm 100mm 110mm 120mm
My current stem is about 120mm end to end but about 90mm ctr of bracket to ctr of bracket.....so you can see my slight confusion?

Regarding seatpost....i took my current one out and the only bit of writing on it was 31.6 (guess im safe to assume this is the diameter of the post and any new post i buy MUST be 31.6 also)...

    thanks

The stem measurement is centre to centre, and you are correct with your seatpost measurement.

I assume you're looking to go shorter or longer on your stem? I changed mine on my Trance from 120 to 110 and it made the ride much more responsive
