What are the Orange 5 owners views on the revised geometry of the 2009 model?
With 140mm fork the 2007/2008 bike has a head angle of 68.5 deg and seat 73 deg. Again with 140mm fork the 2009 bike has a head angle of 67 deg and 73 seat.
So, not so good at climbing but a bit more stable downhill. Surely if you want a more downhill oriented bike you buy a Alpine? With a 160mm fork this has a 66.5 deg head angle and a 74 deg seat angle which is probably the equivalent of the 2009 5 with the same fork!?
It seems they no longer have a proper 'all mountain' bike but have two downhill oriented bikes?

I've had mine for a week now and find the bike great.
It climbs well but descends like a dream
I've got Pike's on the front which suit the bike better than Floats0 -
Doh, is it just a geometry change of has it been reinforced for the extra stress? Would be a shame as it was a nice light enduro bike.I've got Pike's on the front which suit the bike better than Floats
That kind of depends what you do with it.0 -
