Finally!!! At long last!!!
On the way home last night, got to the Stockwell roundabout, heading towards Clapham when I noticed that the group with me were all women  First time ever. Interestingly enough, when the lights hit green every single one of them SLOWLY took off. Even the ones on racing bikes, whereas the men who eventually appeared, were in full 'race' mode
Normal programming resumed this morning and, I'll bet, will resume this evening

Why oh why oh why was I not behind them all admiring the glory!?! Damn!!!
Cafewanda have you taken a look at the Silly Commuter Racing thread yet? Sounds like you would be a good participant....Food Chain number = 4
A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game0 -
Have to say, I'd have been the one woman, probably at the back muttering 'for god's sake get a move on'...
Great to hear that there are other girls on bikes out there!0 -

Plenty of girls on my commute. Some of them take me a while to overtake as well ;-)
Wasn't impressed with one last night who from London Bridge to me turning off at Great Dover Street insisted on pulling in front of me at every set of lights.0 -

Statistically, a fair gamble.0 -

I want to commute in London. Sounds so much more fun, and nicer things to look at. Get fed up with looking at trees and green fields after a whileThe doctor said I needed to start drinking more whiskey. Also, I’m calling myself ‘the doctor’ now0

+1.
There's a difference between commuting in London and riding in London. For the latter, it's much better to be surrounded by trees and fields.FCN 2-4.

quite often there is this girl who is clearly a highly accomplished runner runnng down the bridleway - sometimes in the same direction as me. She does have a fair turn of speed and it makes it very difficult to pass safely.
At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
The fact that she is tall, slim, athletic and stunning has NOTHING to do with it.Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

I often think I must have the perfect commute. I'm looking to move house very soon and am genuinely only looking for houses in the area so that I can have the same commute.
Is that obsessive or what?Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Yep. One reason why I don't want to move further south/out: I'd have to catch the train.FCN 2-4.

DDD, I've been in there more than a few times and only the fact that I'm not 'fully qualified' and on a faster bike stops me from joining in at the moment0 -
