hey got my new bike last week (think it was thrusday) and ive been riding on it, done about 60 miles since then including a 15 mile race. i havent dropped it or anything or bent the derauiller but it keeps jumping gears when i start to accelerate. its becoming more and more frequent and its going to cause an accident one day as ive alomost lost control after my foot slipped out my clip.
my bike is a careera virtuoso and it has the standard grouppo
i am gonna take it back to halfords [grr!] but i think i might confuse them as i did when i asked them what groupset came with the bike.
any ideas ?

Have you checked the indexing? It should have been set up correctly by the bike shop but Halfrauds aren't always known for having decent bike mechanics.0

If it's been getting progressively worse then its probably just the cable stretching, this always happens with a new cable so don't worry - try screwing out the barrel adjuster on the mech or on the down tube by one eight to one quarter to take up the slack0

Hi,
First check your chain for tight links. If your chain is OK try by re adjusting front and rear derailleur - starting with the rear one first. Oh and don't just dial the screws but actually loosen the cable first and then adjust it again. Usually it's because the jockey wheels aren't aligned properly.0
