Is anyone else doing this ride in August?
After struggling with the Hants Hilly 100 I have decided to lower my goals and signed up for the 47 mile route - see how I get on and then plan to work up to another 100 at some point in the future.
So if anyone's entered and/or fancies joining me for some training rides on all or part of the routes then let me know.

Yes i have entered this event and i plan on doing the longer distance on a singlespeed.
I love the forest and do a lot of training out that way. It's ideal for a fixie as it's fairly flat apart from the 25% up blissford hill  but i hope to have the legs for it by then
Hope to see you there,i'll be on the pimped up langster0 -
Yep i'm doing it too, signed up for the longer route, never riden out that way before and looking forward to it."If you think you can, or if you think you can't, your right" Henry Ford0

Thanks for the replies chaps, esp Shakey as I've a mate who is thinking of entering the 47 on his Langster ... now he'll have no excuse if you're going the 78 on one
Having ridden some parts of the route during other training rides, I know there are some lovely bits of road on this event and looking forward to it0 -
Another one to consider for that area is the Test Valley ride: http://www.testvalleytour.com/spring_road.htm
A bit low key compared with other sportives, but a choice of nice routes. Only one feed stop (and only on the 150k route) but as long as you know what to expect...
Covers some similar ground to the Rattler.
And later in the season the CTC organise the 'Gridiron Challenge' a 100k loop largely around the perimeter of the New Forest - no timing and quite a chilled-out ride, a bit like the IoW Randonee in spirit.0 -
After finding the HHH to be hard work, I think I shall leave the test valley one until next year but will try and keep the gridiron weekend clear - have meant to do that one for the last couple of yrs but it's clashed with various family stuff.0
