Whats the best lock to buy for a bike guys? Looking for a lock that you can carry about with you for commuting etc.

Only probs is that I would prefer to get one from Halfords (cause of c2w scheme).

What lock from Halfords would you recommend?

Cheers

How much is your bike worth?

The reason I'm asking is that if it is expensive you'd be better spending the lock money on a cheap commuter hack bike and leave the nice one at home.

You could pick up an excellent commuter and lock for about 50 notes easy.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Heavy duty D-lock (shackle) plus a flexy cable type one to lace through the front wheel.

Bear in mind that there probably isn't a commercially available lock on Earth that will stop a determined thief. It'll just slow em down a little bit.

You could buy Borat's bear off him, and chain it to your bike. No-one would steal it then

Failing that, Kryptonite do a good range. £50+, and you'll have a decent lock. The New York D-shackle is a beast. Heavy, but if you could leave it locked at work, then just commute with the keys... Would be a more sensible idea, rather than lugging a lock backwards and forwards on your daily commute!!
