Carbopn seatpost

I kinda fancy adding abit more carbon to the bike, and a seatpost seems a good start.
Do I go for the correct size (30.6mm) or the 27mm one and shim it up?
I read somewhere the slimmer one will reduce the buzz a bit more, is that correct?
I know this is re-post but I put the last one in the wrong section so i thought it would be best to put a new one in the correct section.

I had nothing but trouble with a seat shim so would advise going for the correct size seat post. I found that the shim would click every pedal revolution; admittedly this was after several thousand miles but it was still very annoying.0

+1 no shimFacts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

I used a shim (USE thermoplastic) and had no problems - as well as less road buzz, there seems more choice with a 27.2 post (and usually cheaper).Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

Never had a problem with a shim and if you use an acetal one like USE, means you don't have to worry about it seizing in the frame. The effect of the post really depends on the post itself, how much is sticking out and how much you weigh.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

+1 for the plastic shim. You don`t have to worry about overtightening.I had to rough mine up a bit with sandpaper to stop the post slipping,ok since.Smarter than the average bear.0
