Popular with bikes. And walkers. And dogs. It gets narrower as you head away from Bude but still OK.0

Looking on Googlemaps there appears to be a path alongside the canal. This is from the beach inland to the A39.

Cheers for the replies, i shall give it a go when i'm there (keep me out of trouble for a bit!)On One Inbred 456

IIRC the canal itself is closed a mile or so out of Bude and the towpath peters out where it runs close to the A39. You could always hire a rowing boat in Bude - if your rowing ability is anything like mine it will be dark before you get back to town0

Yes, I know Bude well! The canal path is a lovely ride, if a little flat. Once you getto Marhamchurch, it dissapears, but you can continue towards Swanacott Wood/Week St Mary for some more technical riding. I also recommend heading north from Bude to the Coombe Valley and Woodford for some stunning scnery and drops!
I think that the Cookworthy Moor Plantation (Forest) is often overlooked in that area too, some superb riding to be had there.. you could head for the trails around Roadford Lake too if you still have some energy. Watch out for sharp pine needles in Cookworthy though, best to stick to the path through it.
I think Bude itself needs a decent bike shop ... it would do well there.
