Bails has pretty much hit it spot on the head...I have some info on my website which people have found useful in the past, based on my experiences of getting into racing in the last 18 months...

You can find races on the British Cycling website and also xcracer.com.

Good luck, enjoy yourself and ride with a smile :)

No idea, I was thinking of giving them a go myself. If it's local why not turn up and either take some photos and walk the course or get involved and sign up if you're feeling brave :)

If you're in Manchester look up brownbacksracing.co.uk for really cool, chilled racing on a cool course.

I might go up there Friday this week (depending on work) if you fancy a look around. There's actually a race this Sunday too, not sure I can make it, but definitely recommend just turning up and giving it a go!

    Peabrain,

I've added a page on my website about entering your first event. You might find it useful :)
