Can anyone help me ?
My daughter needs a new road bike
she is racing at national level at under 12
shes 5'6" and is currently riding an appollo tdf,
wiliing to spend between £800 and £1000 as she is still growing, have been looking at the focus cayo 08, specialized tarmac 08 and trek 1.7,
has anyone got any advice to pass on to a complete novice ?

I would say at her age and the fact she is still growing to buy a bike first that fits her, don't spend too much on the frame(no point in fancy carbon as she'll have some crashes along the way) keep the bulk of the budget for decent wheels, tyres and clothing. The wheels will always be an investment as you can take them from bike to ike as she grows.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

She's tall for a 12 year old! So you can probably get away with an adults frame. That said, I think a custom frame would be appropriate. Nicole Cooke won a bunch of races on a Brian Rourke That would set you back 500-600 pounds. Throw on a Veloce groupset, Khamsin wheels and it will be around the 1200 mark.0
