Ok so i've got a bike sorted at the very maximum my budget would allow. Its a scott aspet 20 2009. So given time i'm going to be saving for up-grades, looking at what i'm going to be using the bike for ,mostly tracks like Llandegla, Hayfield peak district, maybe scotland if i get a chance. Whats going to be the first thing you guys would look to for some good kit at a good price. I know the forks would prob be first, maybe the wheels but i've spent hours looking at raceface and all the other names and it makes my head spin..

I'm not i'm saving up to, the bike i got was pretty much all i could afford. It was originally a GT avalanche 1.0 but it was sold out and they could not source one until aug, the shop said the scott was pretty much the best bet and a very close match spec wise to the GT. I'm looking at a few mths yet going to do some of the easyer runs first getting back into it then hit some black runs. I dont have a few grand to chuck at a bike to get the best spec gear and not worry about it failing on me after a few hard mths on the trails...I only really wanted to see what gear u folks change and what names popped up most..0

Anything which annoys you. Some parts of the bike are just personal taste so pedals, bars, grips and saddles are prime changes.Uncompromising extremist0

Thats the stuff i'm looking into now. The list of makes, models, sizes is endless carbon fiber raisers seem to be a good up-grade but need to get on the bike and see how it fits..0
