Finally got around to finishin off the Kinesis Maxlight build this morning.
Some pics:
Gears are nice, far better than Deore.
Juicy 5s took some bleeding to get a nice feel, front is spot on back could do with another bleed at some point as there is a bit of travel before it hardens up.
Current weight is 26.4lbs. This is with my old wheels; Mavic 717s on XTs are on the way though, so weight will drop a little (hopefully!).
Going out for a little run this afternoon, so we'll see how it rides
It feels very much like the Trek 6000, but lighter obviously!
comments as always!
(and thanks for all your help during the build )

sweet nice looking bike.
out of interest how much roughly did the whole build cost you?

Nigh on a grand excluding the forks! 99% of the bits are new and sourced via ebay, so I have saved a fortune on RRP.
I'm happy and have enjoyed sourceing the bits and building it up - twice the fun!0 -
Nice job, rowlers, I'm in the process of doing similar atm.
Let us know how it rides, see if you notice a difference in the back end going over some rough stuff.0 -
IMO replace the grips and other red bits (seat post, spacers) with other colour - white?
Sweet looking bike though!0 -
maybe change to white in the future, but won't be spending anything on it for a few months yet!0

Looks really good mate.
Personally I would have a black seatpost, spacers etc...black and red always looks good.
I used to have a red Toyota MR2 with black wheels...looked the biz 8)
out of interest, what pedals are on it?
SiWhy has my sig been removed by the admins???0 -
crank bros smarties for now. maybe upgrade when they wear out. I like them dead easy to clip in and out of and are light!0
-
looking really good m8 can tell you've worked hard0

the hardest bit is gettiing all the parts together, ones that fit anyway
first ride
Just been out on it, done 15mile over road, track and muddy rocky lonnings.
Got to say I'm impressed, It was instanlty noticable how light and maneuverable it is. It flies up hills that I used to struggle with on the trek, it really did make it much easier!
No vibration though to the seat and the carbon Bars/riser eliminate ony buzz through to the hands.
Overall I'm well chuffed!
thanks for the positives/suggestion so far0 -
Nice ride, black / red always looks the nuts.
Are those ignitors the 1.95 or 2.1? I'm thinking of getting a pair for the summer, just wondering how they're working out for you.
Cheers,0 -
Nice ride 8)
You notice much difference having the carbon seat stays??Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad

Cheers,
the ignitors are 1.95 and I love them, they are fast on the raod and still grip even in slimy mud/grass. I think they are reasonably light too!0 -
Just out of interest what size frame is it and how tall are you??0
