Im starting to get wound up by this now....
for the umpteenth time i have recorded cycling on my v+ box, sat there watching intently ....coming to the pointy end of race or stage ....... then .....
" we hope you enjoyed watching etc etc "
Cue cats doing a runner as i rant and rage in the living room !!
i realise that live sports that may be on before the cycling can over run ..no problem ... i just wish in this day and age Eurosport would rely on digital codes like Sky Sports for its programmes( doesnt matter how long it over runs it keeps recording ) rather than old fashioned time codes which give no leeway when things over run
missed the end of Liege , Paris Roubaix and the resut of the TT in the giro .... do i really need to sit here and record everything in front of and behind the programming just to make sure !?!?

Im with you on this one. Kind of hope that SKY do some coverage when the Team takes off. Though I love listening to Harmon and Kelly Bullsh1t for 2-3 hours about how great Cavindish is of how Contador Bonked in Paris-Nice.
Secret is to Record one programme before and after. I am away at the moment and had to have 60% of my Sky+ box free to cover the first 3 days of the Giro and the Manchester Derby, along with the wifes soaps. 40 % was cycling though!!!!!0 -
Everyone knows that Eurosport is flexible with its times. It's the nature of live sport. They're not going to cut to the cycling if they're right at the end of what they're showing before the cycling - similarly if the cycling's a bit slower that day they're not going to cut before they cross the line.
If there's a headwind on a long stage it can add 45 mins to the total time.
:roll:Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -
Ive been caught out with this in the past, setting sky to record the programme and it stops recording before the end of the race . . .
I now set up a manual record via sky, its very easy, manual record is in the settings menu. pick the channel and times, i tend to set it to start when scheduled and finish an hour after they say it will. It works for me0
