I managed to strip the threads on my Focus Variado tonight and was luckily able to swap another from my commuter bike that's the same size. The seattube OD is 31.8mm so I'm in the market for a new one.
Is one seat clamp the same as another, should I just pick one at random ? I would like a fixed one rather than quick release. I gather lightweight and strong are the requirements.

How is this one for £5 from chainreaction ?

Pretty dull subject but if anyone can share some knowledge or recommendations it'd be apreciated :)

I have one of those, it works well as the bolt threads into a steel nut rather than into aluminium. Mine is done up really tight to stop the carbon post slipping.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was concerned that most of them available seem to be big chunky things aimed at MTB's rather than road bikes.
