rear sus advice

my wife has a felt virtue 1 (carbon rear, fox rp23, full xt) which is an outstanding ride! I need an upgrade from my scott ht now and am wondering if anything out there is better for being a stiff rear sus that does not bob and sag all over the place!! the equilink system seems well thought out. i am unsure why some have the sus under top tube as opposed to the rear? is the trek fuel or spesh stunty any good, is the scalpel good too but open to less obvious marquess as they often give better value.
cheers

Bob varies from biek to bike, and how we ride them. I'd test some out, the bikes topping my list being the GT marathon and the XC versions of the DW link.0

Anything with a correctly setup propedal will normally give you a bob-free platform to push against when climbing. Do you still find your wifes bobs up and down too much with it turned on?
Any of the bikes you mentioned are fantastic xc/trail type bikes. What is it you want the bike for? General trail riding?0 -

cheers - get the feeling any bike will be fine with the Fox RP23 on? want a bike that is good on trails and XC but is able to leave and go off and down when needed. Was wanting to know more about the reason different bikes move it around the frame?0
